Mara Cozzolino approached the Japanese woodblock printing mokuhanga in 2011 and, after a short course in Edinburgh, was invited to take part in an artistic residency in Japan at the Mokuhanga Innovation Laboratory. Since then she has worked exclusively with this medium.
He participated in the first and second International Conference on Mokuhanga in Japan, respectively in Kyoto in 2011 and in Tokyo in 2014, and in the third edition in 2017 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Since 2018 he has been part of the International Mokuhanga Association Board. His works have been exhibited in Italy, England, Scotland, Japan, Spain, France, Cyprus and the United States.
