Susaki, the "thin strip of land" at the mouth of the Sumida River in Fugakawa, Edo district. In the foreground, the roof of the famous temple dedicated to the goddess Benten, to protect the springs, and where the arrival of dawn is watched in prayer. The recollection of prayer seems to involve the view itself. Fuji, almost black, not yet illuminated by the lights of dawn.
