Collection: Munari Bruno
(Milan 1907 - Milan 1998)
Italian designer, sculptor and writer, Bruno Munari is considered one of the greatest protagonists of 20th century art, design and graphics.
He was just twenty years old when he joined the second-generation Milanese futurist movement. He distinguished himself for his exuberant and eclectic activity, which included painting, educational and kinetic experimentation, graphic design, advertising and photography.
In 1948 he was one of the founding members of the MAC (Concrete Art Movement).
In 1949, at the Libreria Salto in Milan, he exhibited his “Machines inutiles”, mechanical devices presented as experimental models that investigated the possibilities of perception, making him a precursor of optical art.
In 1950 he exhibited his “negative-positive paintings” in Paris.
He will also have an international response for his artistic studies on creative play that always aims to respect children's intelligence.
