Wild clay hand-picked by the artist and natural glaze, worked on the lathe (h 80 mm x Ø 90 mm). Imprinted signature.
Small vase made of wild clay hand-picked in the Filia hamlet (Castellamonte, Turin) and glazed with natural glaze that makes it completely waterproof. The glaze is made of local pink granite, also hand-picked, reduced to a very fine powder and mixed with oak and acacia ash, according to the Japanese Nuke recipe.
The impurities of clay and granite, the small fragments of quartz present, become the protagonists of an object that reflects the territory in which the materials are collected. The structure of the enamel color is almost indescribable: it creates a variegated effect and very rich in shades.
The firing temperature is 1260 °C, which makes the ceramic durable and resistant.
Unique specimen, perfect preservation.
