The Hagoromo legend tells of Hakuryo, a Miho fisherman in Suruga Bay, who finds a feathered dress lost by an angel.

Hakuryo is represented here celebrating the find with a cup of sake in which he sees the reflection of Fuji.

The legend inspired the text of a famous play of the No theater, with the same title, Hagoromo , the robe of feathers.
