Splendid proof with good contrasts, in the third edition from the original woodcuts. Printed on Japan paper, in excellent condition, with clean edges all around beyond the marginal line.

Modern critics consider this table one of the most beautiful, seeing in it a notable sentimental movement, rare in Hokusai.
Sentiment expressed by the child who, perched on top of the planks and suspended over the water, contemplates Fuji.
He also interprets (Narazaki) the figurine crouched on the raft on the left, as a citizen on the run in search of a serene natural stillness.
