Splendid proof with excellent colors, in the first edition. Printed on Japanese mulberry paper in the Meiji era (1868-1912). In good condition, with central editorial fold, slightly oxidized and uncut margins.

Mochizuki Gyokusen is an important Japanese painter of the Maruyama-Shijō school, active in the Meiji period. Originally from Kyoto, he specialized in painting landscapes, flowers and birds, characterized by a refined use of color and a balance between realism and Japanese tradition. Thanks to his talent, he became the official painter of the imperial court, receiving prestigious artistic commissions, including the title of Artist of the Imperial Household.
