Splendid proof in the fifth state out of six, printed on laid paper datable to the mid-1700s. In perfect condition with a margin of about 2 mm all around beyond the copper imprint.
In the temple, on the right Mary is kneeling with Simeon holding the child on her lap. In the center the prophetess Anna is in the ray of light coming from the right. Above his head the dove of the Holy Spirit beats its wings, while a dog sits on the ground to the left. The back of the temple is lit up and full of people.
“Now in Jerusalem there was a man named Simeon, a just and God-fearing man, waiting for the comfort of Israel; the Holy Spirit who was upon him had foretold him that he would not see death without first having seen the Lord's Messiah. Moved therefore by the Spirit, he went to the temple; and while the parents brought the child Jesus there to fulfill the Law, she took him in her arms and blessed God:
“Now let your servant go in peace, O Lord, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared before all the peoples, light to enlighten the nations and glory of your people Israel".
Jesus' father and mother marveled at the things that were said about him. Simeon blessed them and spoke to Mary, his mother: "He is here for the ruin and resurrection of many in Israel, a sign of contradiction for the thoughts of many hearts to be revealed. And a sword will pierce your soul too."
There was also a prophetess, Anna, daughter of Fanuèle, of the tribe of Asher. She was very advanced in age, having lived with her husband seven years since she was a girl, she was later widowed and was now eighty-four years old. He never left the temple, serving God day and night with fasting and prayers. Arriving at that moment, she too began to praise God and spoke of the child to those who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.
